UENOMURA, JAPAN -- Isaac Arnquist, a 24 year old American, is now living and working among the short people of Japan. Arnquist, a tall fellow at 194 centimeters, remarked in an interview on July 28, 2005, "I keep hitting my head on things! It really makes my ethnocentricities shine through."
that was....sorry, I must have gotten something in my eye....it was beautiful. Good to know that the music of the Little Mermaid has and will continute to serenade us through life's most magestic moments.
Why the hell were you singing a tune from the little mermaid?! Personally, I would have went with the Ace Ventura "Aaaahhhaaaahhaaaahhhaaaahhhaaaaaahhhaaaaalllrighty theeen" That mountain made me think of it.
for those of you who don't know...that is mount fuji--supposedly, one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. also, the symbol of japan, the most hiked mountain in the world, and the name of a competitor to kodak. the list goes on...
The best was the guy in the seat behind us, watching this spectacle go down. Awesome. Because they're not already totally afraid of foreigners here. Ahhhh, I love it!
Yeah, I am an Arnquist by marriage. You are probably related to us. My husband's g. grandfather was Otto W. Arnquist who came over from Sweden in 1868 at age 10 with his family. They settled in Hudson Wisconson. Otto only had one son who lived to adulthood, but I think there were a few brothers.
The person you need to make contact with is my son Stephen Arnquist, age 21. He will graduate from BYU in April with a degree in Japanese and wants to teach in Japan. It would be cool for him to hear from someone who is actually doing it. His email address is sephiroth4701 at hotmail.com. Mary

I don't know what's sadder, this video or the fact that I recognized the song in like half a second
