Cultural Realization #782

Japanese people are great at embellishing things. From ornamenting their entire dashboard with Pooh-san (Winnie the Pooh) and other stuffed animals, to landscaping and irrigating every square centimeter of land, they really know how to make anything look good (or gaudy). Even poop.

You know working at a zoo has made me desensitized to almost all poo. This looks delicious!!

nah, that's not mochi. that is dango, mochi's less popular cousin. every year my students make dango and hang them on branches. it's like japanese xmas or something.

one of the more imaginative kids made the poo dango. they tasted divine.
